Well, how did the first day of practice go for area teams?

I went to the Kelly practice. Very pleased with some very different things that I saw. No chatter, no loafing-very businesslike,enthusiastic, and intense. No half-ass jogging, and perhaps a record set for up-downs and push-ups. B.I. and his assts (btw-he has a knowledgeable group of assts finally-the feller who came from Norton is a rather intense individual-like that and Coach Mullins seems to be fitting in well). You could tell the expectations are a little different this year. The practice should have had some censor-warnings lol, but that's all good (like to see the coaches chewing ass when needed). B.I. has a bunch that is going to work hard for him, and thats a start.

I need an update on Clintwood as well. A youngin' that I helped raise in many ways is a frosh over there (should be a goodun when it's all said and done)

Wish I had a good update to give I was not there and the only think I am hearing from the people who were there was the comments made on the number of kids Clintwood has out this year

Who is the frosh that I need to keep an eye on (I will inquire about him for you)

He is a freshman. Played guard and center before. No clue what he is playing at this year (just heard him say he was going to play)

What little bit I have seen @ Pound there is no playing around.And the boys coming off the field look like they had a great work out.I like the way things are being ran by coach right now.Looks good to me so far.I think their were a few guys come out that wasn't there last year.

Kids who play at Burton are saying that things are going good. Some of the players moving to new positions to cover for the seniors who left are still getting used to their new roles but it seems to be going pretty smooth. Coaches don't seem to be making major changes to plays or positions so the kids seem to be just sliding back into the routine of last year. Fingers are crossed for them. The younger ones seem really excited at the prospect of more playing time than last year. From what I've heard there's lots of enthusiasm, which is great.
